The Guide - Section 7 |
 |
Your Personal Web Page
- You can create a web page for yourself of
the form - http://AuthorsRegister.com/YourName
using your own name. Sign in and click on 'Edit
my web presence'. You will see two buttons -
'Change Public Handle?' and 'Edit Your Profile?'.
- Changing your public handle changes the name
of your web page. For example, if I want to
be listed under the pen name of AlgernonSnooks
instead of DavidCaldo, that is what I would
set as my Public Handle.
- Editing your profile is where you set up the
content of your web page. You can upload a picture
of you or your book, add links to where you
book is on sale (e.g. Amazon), describe your
background, your books, and so on.
- There are extensive Help buttons on the site
to help you with these functions.
- You may then publish or hide your web page
by clicking on the button 'Show' or 'Hide'.
The message beside the button will display your
current status. Normally you want it to show,
but you might want to hide it while it is still
in preparation. To see what it looks like to
others, click on the link just above the button
while you web page is noted as 'Online'.
- Finally you will want to click 'Save' and
then 'Quit'. Voila, your web page is available
for everyone to see.
- If you already have your own web site, we
recommend that you include a link to it in your
AuthorsRegister page, and similarly a link to
your AuthorsRegister page from your website.
This will strengthen the presence of your web
site in the search engines.
