Born in London I was the youngest of four girls. The family moved to the north west when I was two. I wrote my first children's adventure story at twelve years of age when recovering from measles. Although trained as a beautician and later to be a perfume buyer for a major departmentment store, I continued to write short stories and articles for magazines until my marriage and then motherhood. For many years my writing was put on hold until the early nineties when I began writing murder mysteries. Early in the noughties I wrote scripts for TV soaps and radio, and then resumed my books. I have one son and two grandson's who live quite close.
